The guys from PlanetStalker had a little interview with Oleg at the "Games Convention" which revealed some interesting news.
- The COOP-Mode will probably be added as a patch
- It´s uncertain whether there will be a demo but if they decide to create one this will be after the release.
- GSC is still working on the modding tools
- There will be a public beta test within approximately 2 months
PC.IGN - New Article and Videos 25.Aug.2004
A new article has appeared at pc.ign.com. In addition, do not forget to head to IGN's media page where three new movies (shaky cam) are waiting for you. The editor had the opportunity to play the game at the German Games Convention. We recommend that you read the whole report. Yet, if you are too lazy, here are some interesting points summed up for you:
- "A brief conversation commenced via a standard RPG dialogue tree, where I was given a choice of missions and other options, such as buying goods from him (the dealer) if I so wished."
- The PDA "tracks things such as maps, a list of associates, objectives and an encyclopedia".
- The radioactive dogs are a tough enemy, taking at least five or six shots to be taken down.
- "They run away from you and hide until you almost forget about them, then they sniff you out and jump you from behind. You can track them by the blood trails they leave behind." The A.I. does the same with you.
- The A.I. of the enemy soldiers was quite impressive.
- "Artifacts are usually found floating in mid-air since they are a result of the anomalies."
- Tables and chairs can be moved. The physics engine plays a big role.
- Supporting 32 players/server is planned in the multi-player part of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
А уту ну просто масло-маслянное:
The web site Gamers With Jobs has awarded prizes to games that were shown at the Games Convention in Leipzig.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was quite successful as it won the "best game of show", "best multiplayer game of show" and "best sky texture" award.
To be fair though, one has to say that the author only got to play two games, the other being Destroy All Humans.
